🦁 Word Serenity

Data and Privacy Policy

A clear look at what Word Serenity stores, what may be sent outside your device, and how optional services such as purchases, ads, reminders, and sign-in work.

Effective date: July 21, 2026

Word Serenity is a word search game built to be calm, simple, and respectful of your privacy. You can play the game without creating an account. Some optional features, such as syncing purchases, buying coins, restoring premium access, receiving rewarded ads, and daily reminders, use trusted third-party services so those features can work properly.

This policy explains what the app stores, what may be sent outside your device, and why.

🌿 The short version

Word Serenity saves most gameplay information on your own device. This includes your settings, puzzle progress, daily streak, coins, hints, achievements, best times, selected language, and similar game progress.

If you sign in with Google or make a purchase, some account and purchase information is sent to services we use to verify purchases, protect paid items, restore access, and keep paid coin balances accurate.

If ads are shown, Google AdMob may process device and ad-related information to serve ads and measure ad performance.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not collect contacts, photos, microphone audio, camera data, precise GPS location, health information, or private files from your device.

📱 Information stored on your device

Word Serenity stores gameplay and preference information locally so the game can remember where you left off. This may include:

This information stays on your device unless you use a feature that needs a service, such as Google sign-in, Play purchases, rewarded ads, or cloud purchase sync.

You can reset local progress from the Profile screen. Uninstalling the app may also remove local progress, depending on your device and backup settings.

🔐 Google sign-in

Signing in is optional for normal play. The app asks you to sign in before making purchases or syncing purchase-related progress, because purchases and paid coins need to be tied to a player account.

When you sign in with Google, the app uses Firebase Authentication. The app and its billing service may receive and store:

We use this information to protect purchases, sync paid coin balances, restore access, and prevent purchases from being credited to the wrong account.

💳 Purchases, subscriptions, coins, and premium access

Word Serenity uses Google Play Billing for Android purchases. Purchases may include subscriptions, lifetime premium, remove ads, category and language bundles, themes, avatars, stickers, season pass access, and coin packs.

When you buy or restore something, the app sends purchase details to the Word Serenity billing service so the purchase can be verified with Google Play. The billing service may process:

Raw Google Play purchase tokens are used for verification with Google Play. The backend stores a hash of the token rather than the raw token.

For coins, the backend stores a wallet balance and wallet history so coin purchases are credited once, coin spending is not duplicated, and refunds or voided purchases can be handled safely. The coin ledger may include:

Consumable coins are not restored in the same way as permanent purchases. Once coins are spent, they are treated as used. Durable purchases, such as remove ads, lifetime premium, eligible bundles, themes, avatars, stickers, and active subscriptions, can be restored through Google Play and the billing service.

🔄 Real-time purchase updates

Google Play may send purchase update notifications to the Word Serenity billing service. These notifications help the app respond to subscription renewals, expirations, cancellations, refunds, revoked purchases, and voided purchases.

The backend may store purchase notification records containing:

These records are used to keep premium access, subscriptions, remove-ads access, and paid coin balances accurate.

🎬 Ads and rewarded hints

Word Serenity uses Google AdMob for ads. Ads may include banner ads, interstitial ads, and rewarded video ads.

Rewarded ads are optional. If you choose to watch a rewarded ad for a hint or bonus, the app waits for the ad network to report that the reward was earned before adding the reward.

Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK may process information such as device identifiers, advertising identifiers, app information, IP address, approximate location inferred from network data, ad interactions, diagnostics, and similar ad delivery data. Google uses this information under its own policies to serve ads, limit abuse, measure performance, and support advertising features.

Buying remove ads or having a premium entitlement may stop standard ads from appearing in the app. Some optional reward flows may still be offered only if the player chooses to use them.

🔔 Notifications

Daily puzzle reminders are optional. If you turn them on, Word Serenity asks your device for notification permission and schedules a local reminder at the time you choose.

The app does not use a remote push notification service for daily reminders. The reminder time and whether reminders are enabled are stored on your device. Your reminder setting is not sold or shared for advertising.

📚 Word packs and puzzle content

Word Serenity includes word packs and category libraries in multiple languages. Puzzle words, categories, level rules, and difficulty settings are game content, not personal information.

The app may store which categories you mark as favorites, which categories you played recently, and which category packs or language packs are unlocked. Those records are used to personalize the game and restore access.

📤 Sharing

The app may let you share game results or progress using your device share sheet. Sharing only happens when you choose to do it. The destination app you choose, such as a messaging app or social app, handles the shared text under its own privacy policy.

🧭 Analytics and diagnostics

The app code includes an analytics abstraction, but the reviewed app implementation does not send custom gameplay analytics events by default.

The Android project includes Firebase components. Firebase Authentication is used for Google sign-in. If Firebase Analytics remains enabled in a production build, Google may process app instance, device, usage, and diagnostic information under Firebase and Google policies. No custom analytics events are required for core gameplay.

The app and backend may also produce technical logs when something fails, such as sign-in, purchase verification, billing sync, or notification scheduling. These logs are used to diagnose problems and protect the service.

☁️ Backend and hosting

The Word Serenity billing service runs on Cloudflare Workers and stores purchase and coin records in Cloudflare D1. Cloudflare may process request information such as IP address, request metadata, security logs, and diagnostic data as part of hosting, routing, protecting, and operating the service.

The backend is used for:

If you request deletion, some purchase records may need to be kept for a limited time where required for fraud prevention, accounting, refunds, legal compliance, or platform dispute handling.

👪 Children

Word Serenity is a general audience word game. It is not designed to collect personal information from children. Children should not sign in, make purchases, or use paid features without permission from a parent or guardian.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact support so the information can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.

🛡️ Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect purchase and account records. Purchase tokens are hashed before storage, backend requests use authentication tokens, and the billing service verifies purchases with Google Play before granting paid access.

No system is perfect, but the app is designed to avoid collecting sensitive information that it does not need.

🗓️ Data retention

Local game progress stays on your device until you reset it, uninstall the app, clear app data, or your device removes it.

Backend purchase, entitlement, wallet, and purchase notification records are kept for as long as needed to provide purchases, restore access, maintain coin balances, handle refunds or disputes, prevent fraud, and meet legal or platform requirements.

🌍 International processing

The services used by Word Serenity may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Those services handle data according to their own security, privacy, and data-transfer practices.

📝 Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the app changes, when new services are added, or when store or legal requirements change. The effective date will be updated when the policy changes.
